Handcrafted diaphragm ensures incredible performance

Featuring a pressure-gradient cardioid condenser microphone, the Baby Bottle SL employs an edge-terminated, single-membrane large diaphragm capsule. For this handcrafted diaphragm, Blue selected a 6-micron mylar film, sputtered with a mixture of pure gold and aluminum. Enclosed within a spherical grill, the side-address capsule can be positioned in the smallest of spaces.

Discrete components furnish crystal-clear sound

The Blue Baby Bottle SL's electronics are Class A discrete, with a transformerless output. There are no integrated circuits in its signal path. In plain English, this means that the sound that arrives at the diaphragm is transduced (converted to electrical energy) as accurately as possible, with minimal coloration.

The Baby Bottle SL's overall sonic character is neutral and especially rich in midrange response. This makes it an ideal microphone for recording vocals, drums, electric guitar and most acoustic instruments, including "difficult" sources like saxophones, flutes, and stringed instruments. Everything from the store was great the microphone was awesome as was the customer service on a high-level I really appreciate Sweetwater

Very clear sounding mic. Has a little extra mid range sound. Great on acoustic and vocals.

Just plugging and jumping into the booth with this was a drastic improvement, I haven't even tapped into it's potential, and that's incredible.

I got a pair of Baby Bottle SLs primarily to give more love to my beloved rebuilt 1917 Steinway B… only to find out they"re also awesome on vocals and just about everything else! I actually have a couple more expensive tube condensers, but I was feeling they were a bit too thick and heavy sounding in a way that seemed to make my sound dated. The Baby Bottles really make the piano come alive with a combination of presence, clarity and body that I"d been missing. Yay!

These bad boys also bring those same qualities to vox, with a decidedly fresh modern vibe that really jumps out in the mix—even before processing. The presence and clarity across the entire range is awesome. Acoustic guitars also have a vibrant sparkle, and you can get as much body as you want depending upon proximity to the sound hole. In addition to full mids, they"ve got enough high end to be pleasantly crispy on things like tambourine and shakers. As a bonus, these guys put out a lot of juice so I don"t have to worry much about preamp noise. And the construction feels bulletproof right down to the shock mounts.

I just got this mic. Plugged it in and was amazed. The warmth and clarity were great. I know it"s not a $5000.00 mic, but for the money I don"t know how you beat it. Thanks to Aric Brenner and everyone else at Sweetwater. You all are great.
